The High Line Book Blog - Our First Post

I have never officially blogged before and I am not quite sure how to begin it, so I am just going to dive right in. My friends on social media know that I have posted many birthday greetings, and a bunch of - some humorous, some serious - political items, and songs that have meant something to me at one time or another. But mostly I post my photos. Photography has always been my choice method of creative expression, preferably with as few accompanying words as possible; If the image is strong enough it does all the talking without any written explanation. And I always felt that those postings were a kind of blog; an informal photographic journal, if you will.

But this is a bit different. Our new website and blog is the beginning of a labor of love which is the collaboration of the team of Goodman/Schaps & Best on “The High Line Book.” Our blog posts are intended to chronicle and assist in that creative endeavor. Since I would rather show than tell, suffice it to say that we have a number of novel ideas in the works and, for better or worse - hopefully mostly better - we will test some of those concepts right here.

It will be a step-by-step process and it will be fun and challenging for us to experiment, see what works best, and how it plays out. We welcome your feedback and constructive comments and hope you will join us on our exciting journey! -David Goodman
