The High Line Book Blog - Shooting Instinct
Last Friday I was just finishing up my early morning shoot on the High Line. I had needed some shots of the downtown section for the book and as I headed back north I noticed a camera crew setting up on 23rd Street…
In situations like this my natural instinct is to pull out my camera and see what might be photogenic about the situation, which I did. I didn't have to wait very long. I asked one of the members of the crew who informed me that they were shooting a new television series, Instinct, and presently I saw two of the stars, Alan Cumming and Naveen Andrews in rehearsal for the scene they were about to shoot...
After a couple of run-throughs they were ready for picture...
I stayed to shoot several takes of the scene...
...and I was happy to see that they used my favorite view from the High Line overlooking the sweeping vista of 23rd Street and 10th Avenue - can't wait to see how that looks on TV!
As they wrapped up the scene I noticed Alan Cumming taking some photos with his iPhone. Mr. Cumming is an avid photographer himself and has a very cool Instagram feed of which I happen to be a fan.
Whoops! He spots me!
He shoots!
He scores! Gee, I wonder how his picture of me came out!
